Most assignments are begun in class to insure that students understand the issues that are being discussed. Expectations Civics-students will learn about the principles of citizenship and will understand the importance of becoming informed citizens. Also, students will comprehend the value of participating in the political process. US History II-students will learn about 20th century America and the important historical events. Students will incorporate literature into their historical learning process to see the impact of both disciplines on the American experience. US History I-students will learn about early American history and the significant historical events up to the Reconstruction period, and to learn about the fundamentals of American government and the events leading up to the formation of the United States. Grading Tests, Projects- 75% HW, Quizzes, Class Activities -25% Class content- classes will consist of lecture, activities, and group work Attendance policy- unexcused tardy to class will result in a 1/2 absence and a detention Most assignments will be given in class, homework will be kept to a minimum. Current events will be discussed everyday in class. A current events quiz will be given every week. Also. a quiz on the content covered in the book and lectures will be given on a periodic basis. Each unit covered in class will be tested. Students will also be expected to complete projects and book reports. Any assignments missed due to absence must be made up. failure to do so will result in a 0 being given for the missed assignment. If there are any questions or if any student needs help, my prep periods are G and H. |
