1. Grades consist of quizzes, tests, homework, and participation. - Quizzes are given frequently. These may be announced as well as unannounced quizzes. Quizzes count as 25% of your grade.
- Tests are given after each chapter. Tests count as 50% of your total grade.
- Homework is given almost every class. Homework is checked almost every class. Five points are deducted for each incomplete or missed assignment. Your total points divided by the total possible points is your homework grade. Homework counts as 20% of your total grade.
- Participation also counts towards your grade. Every student starts the marking period with a 100 for this grade. For each class in which no participation occurs 5 points will be deducted from this grade. A student may have part of his or her 5 points deducted for not being prepared for class. Participation counts as 5% of your total grade.
E. Work missed because of absence must be made up and turned in within a time frame equal to that of the number of classes the student is absent. Example: If a student is absent one class he or she has one class to turn in the make up work. Handing in make up work is the responsibility of the student. Any make up work not turned in within the time frame will not be accepted and the grade will be recorded as a zero. 2. Each student must have a pencil, notebook, calculator, and any necessary drawing tools (compass, ruler, protractor). The student should take notes, do examples, and do all homework in their notebook. 3. Only teacher made notes will be allowed for quizzes and tests. 4. Extra help is available after school or during the school day provided arrangements are made in advance. 5. Unexcused tardies will result in a detention in addition to WHS rules. 6. Assignments are posted on the WHS web site. 7. Parents please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. WHS phone # 945-4810 ext. 1209, e-mail malootianti@watertownctschools.org |
