Policies and Expectations(2007-08)

        Materials needed for class:

            1.    Notebook (3 ring binder best).

            2.    Folder (if no 3 ring binder).

            3.    Graphing Calculator (at least for home use).

            4.    Pencil, Pen, etc.

            ***ALWAYS BRING YOUR TEXTBOOK TO CLASS***

        Grading Policy:

            1.     Breakdown of marking period grade is as follows,

                    40 % - Test Average (includes test and projects)

                    30 % - Quiz Average

                    20 % - Class Participation

                    10 % - Homework Average.

            2.    Example - Test avg. = 80, Quiz avg. = 85, Class part. = 90, and Homework avg. = 95.

                    .40 x 80 = 32            or        4 x 80 + 3 x 85 + 2 x 90 + 95

                    .30 x 85 = 25.5                                    =

                    .20 x 90 = 18                                850 or 85%

                    .10 x 95 = + 9.5

                Grade = 85%

            3.    Extra Credit Assignments will not exceed 3 points to a marking period grade and

                   only one assignment will be granted per quarter per student.  Extra Credit is only

                   available for students with quarter grades below 70.

        Classroom Rules:

            1.    Respect Others - Allow other people to participate, do not disrupt class.

            2.    Respect Yourself - Do not swear, participate to your best ability, and showcase

                   your abilities and willingness to learn.

            3.    Respect the teacher - Allow him to teach and guide the class to increased

                   understanding of mathematics.
