WELCOME  to the 2007-2008 school year!  The department has added a 5th counselor this year.  As a result counselor assignments have changed, so check your schedule to make sure you are seeing the correct counselor.  I am thrilled that Ms. Larkin and Ms. McGrath have joined the department this year, so make sure you visiti their office and introduce yourself!

SENIORS - please make sure that you are bringing complete applications to our office 2 weeks before the application deadline. If you are planning on applying to college you will need to bring in your Activities Resume and completed Brag Sheet.  Also, remember to ask you teachers for letters of recommendation.

ABOUT ME

I completed my internship at WHS during the 2002-2003 school year while completing my Master’s of Science Degree in Counseling at Southern Connecticut State University. Originally, with a Bachelors of Arts in Business, I worked in the corporate arena for 12 years before deciding to change careers. I volunteered for 14 years teaching a Leadership Weekend for high school students in Maryland. I so enjoyed it that I decided to make a career out of working with teenagers.

My job is to be an advocate for the student. Counselors work with students in three main areas Academic, Personal/Social, and Career. Our department also coordinates the peer counseling program, all testing (SAT, PSAT, AP), College representative visits, and course scheduling. I truly love what I do!
