January’s Senior Student of the Month is Daniel Rinaldi. He believes he has been awarded this honor because of his personality, sense of humor, and his drive to never give up, even during senior year. Both in and out of school, Dan is a participant in activities. He is an active member in Link Crew, Dissection Club, and Model UN, while outside of school he plays indoor soccer, paintball, and enjoys dancing.
As for the future for Dan, he plans to attend RIT where he would like to major in video game design and computer engineering. With this in mind, his favorite subject is calculus because he believes this is the class that will have the most pertinence to his area of study.
January’s Junior Student of the Month is Lauren Perugini. She feels she was selected because of her achievement of high honors every marking period, her hardworking, positive attitude, and friendly personality. She participates in the National Honor Society, World Language Honor Society, Interact Club, and the Girls’ Tennis Team. Her favorite subject this year is Chemistry because there are endless things she can learn about it. When she is not working hard in school, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, going to the gym, and having fun just hanging out.
Her role models are her parents because they both have worked so hard to be incredibly successful, and they have encouraged her to do the same. After high school, Lauren plans to attend college and
Connecticut Music Educators Association Northern Regional Orchestra and Youth Honor Band.
Teddy Rogozinski (trumpet), Leo Kasle (violin), and Tom Zaborowski (percussion) were selected to participate in the Northern Regional Music Festival on January 15-16 at New Britain High School and the Youth Honor Band Festival on February 11 at Canton High School. Selection was the result of tryout competitions held in November among hundreds of students from area high schools. (Town Times, Feb. 18, 2010).
